Lightweight Zelex dolls: what changed
Zelex builds the weight savings into its newer versions, so a lighter doll comes without a separate paid option in the configurator. Zelex says SLE 3.0, released in December 2025, is 3–4 kg (about 7–9 lb) lighter than SLE 2.0, and its body charts back that up. In September 2025 it introduced what it calls lightweight technology, starting with the Inspiration ZG162D body, listed at 33.5 kg with the head.
On a large doll forum, Zelex’s own account said all Fusion and Inspiration 2.0 dolls would gradually move to the lighter build, about 5 kg less on average. Zelex describes the K-series, launched in May 2026, as ultra-lightweight from the start, and puts the silicone thickness at 7 mm.
| SLE body | SLE 2.0 | SLE 3.0 | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| ZX160J | 41.1 kg | 37.2 kg | −3.9 kg |
| ZX164G | 37.45 kg | 33.8 kg | −3.65 kg |
| ZX165D | 37 kg | 33.3 kg | −3.7 kg |
| ZX166K | 35.7 kg | 33.8 kg | −1.9 kg |
| ZX171C | 40.5 kg | 35.6 kg | −4.9 kg |
| ZX172E | 38.7 kg | 35.7 kg | −3.0 kg |
The lightest full-size Zelex bodies list over 30 kg (66 lb), and older Inspiration bodies reach 44.6 kg, so a newer version is noticeably easier to lift. For the lowest weight in the range, a Zelex torso lists 21.8–30 kg.
EXP skeleton vs EVO skeleton
EXP is the Zelex skeleton built for a wider range of poses. Zelex named it after the word expression, introduced it in April 2023 as a development of the basic EVO frame, and has since made it the standard on most lines.
Ball-jointed neck
A ball joint at the neck. In August 2023 Zelex enlarged the ball and cast the joint as one piece.
Shoulders
Shoulders move backward, which opens up more arm poses.
Elbows and wrists
Double-jointed elbows, plus ball-jointed wrists that rotate.
Waist
A reworked waist joint, part of the EXP redesign.
EXP is standard on SLE and Fusion, and the K-series uses a reinforced version. On Inspiration, EVO comes as standard and EXP is a $120 upgrade in the maker’s configurator as of October 2026. Custom orders also let you set joint tightness: normal, looser limbs or looser overall. Handle the hips and fingers with care: owners report SLE 2.0 hip joints and finger wires as the usual weak points, and the Zelex review collects those reports.
Movable jaw: soft head or hard head
A movable jaw comes with a soft head: the jaw is hinged, so the mouth opens, closes and holds its position. Every SLE and Fusion head is soft with a movable jaw, the K-series has a new jaw designed to look naturally closed at rest, and on Inspiration you choose. Soft and hard heads cost the same in the maker’s configurator, so the choice comes down to the look you want.
Zelex describes the trade-off this way: a hard head keeps sharper facial details and longer-lasting makeup, while a soft head gives you the hinged jaw with slightly softer detail and makeup that wears sooner. The soft and hard versions of one face carry different numbers, listed in the guide to Zelex heads.
Ultra-soft silicone, SLE and standard silicone
| Material | Feel, per Zelex | Where | Maker’s surcharge |
|---|---|---|---|
| SLE | Medium-soft | SLE dolls and torsos | Included |
| Standard platinum silicone | Firmer and more durable; suggested for photos and display | Inspiration default | Included |
| Ultra-soft platinum silicone | About 10% softer than SLE | Fusion standard; Inspiration option | +$100 on Inspiration |
Pick by how you will use the doll. For posing and photos, standard platinum silicone is the sturdier choice; for feel, ultra-soft is the one to order. Zelex’s own store carries only silicone and SLE today, and the hybrids with a TPE body it sold in 2023 are no longer listed. The comparison of Zelex lines shows which material each series uses.
Hair, eyebrows, eyes, feet and hands
| Option | Choices | Maker’s price, October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Implanted hair | Hard or soft Inspiration heads; 10 SLE heads; not on Fusion | +$290 on a full doll; +$100 on a single SLE head |
| Wig | SLE default: bald head plus one wig | $15 per extra wig |
| Eyebrows | Painted or implanted; painted advised for soft heads | No charge |
| Eyelashes | Glued or implanted | No charge |
| Eyes | Movable acrylic eyes; color choice on Inspiration and Fusion | $15 for spare eyes |
| Feet | Non-standing, standing with bolts, standing without bolts | No charge |
| Hands | Hard or soft, on Inspiration and Fusion | No charge |
| Skin tone | Inspiration: tan, fair or white; SLE: tan | No charge |
Standing feet with bolts have three bolts in each sole, and the boltless version hides its supports; SLE 2.0 uses bolts, and SLE 3.0 stands without them. Zelex states that no doll can stand completely unsupported, so a wall or a stand nearby gives you steady standing poses. On a soft head, a wig is the easy-care choice: owners report that implanted hair can shed from soft heads within months.
What comes in the box
Zelex’s own promise on contents is that SLE dolls come bald with one wig, and sellers decide the rest. One large dealer packs a cleaning tool, underwear, spare fingers and hard hands with stock SLE 3.0 dolls. The listing shows what yours includes, and the seller can confirm anything it leaves unclear.
The doll ships in a long, unmarked cardboard box, held in place with wooden boards, with the head packed separately in the same box. Before shipping, sellers send factory photos for your approval, the right moment to check every option you paid for. Options add up quickly; the Zelex price guide shows how they affect the total.
Lightweight Zelex dolls and options: FAQ
Does Zelex make lightweight sex dolls?
Yes. Its newer versions weigh less: Zelex says SLE 3.0 is 3–4 kg lighter than SLE 2.0, its lightweight technology cuts Inspiration 2.0 and Fusion bodies by about 5 kg on average, and the K-series is built ultra-light. Full-size bodies still list more than 30 kg, and a Zelex torso brings the weight down to 21.8–30 kg.
Can I pay for weight reduction on a Zelex doll?
The maker’s configurator has no separate weight-reduction option, because the savings come with the newer versions. As of October 2026, SLE 3.0 cost $200 more than SLE 2.0 there, and the 2.0-only Inspiration bodies, including the lightweight ZG162D, carried a $300 surcharge. The version number on a dealer listing tells you which weight you are getting.
What is the Zelex EXP skeleton?
EXP is the Zelex skeleton introduced in April 2023 as a development of the basic EVO frame. It adds a ball-jointed neck, shoulders that move backward, double elbows, rotating ball wrists and a reworked waist. It is standard on SLE and Fusion, reinforced on the K-series and a $120 upgrade on Inspiration in the maker’s configurator as of October 2026.
Does a movable jaw cost extra?
No. In the maker’s configurator, a soft head with a movable jaw and a hard head cost the same. SLE and Fusion heads always have a movable jaw; Inspiration lets you choose. The trade-off is in the finish: Zelex says hard heads keep sharper facial details and more durable makeup, while soft heads give you the hinged jaw.
Is ultra-soft silicone worth it?
For buyers who put feel first, yes. Zelex rates its ultra-soft silicone about 10% softer than SLE and charged $100 for it on Inspiration as of October 2026; Fusion has it as standard. For a doll that will mostly be posed and photographed, Zelex suggests standard silicone, which it calls firmer and more durable.
