How to read a Zelex body code
A Zelex body code has three parts: a prefix for the line, a number and a letter. The number is the doll’s height with the head, in centimeters, and the letter is the chest size on Zelex’s own chart. ZX164G, for example, is an SLE body that stands 164 cm with the head and carries the letter G. Every current full-size Zelex body stands 153 cm or taller.
| Code pattern | What it is | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ZX + height + letter | SLE full-size body | ZX164G |
| ZX + 84 to 117 + letter | SLE torso | ZX109G |
| ZG or ZGX + height + letter | Inspiration body | ZG170C, ZGX165F |
| ZF + height + letter | Fusion body | ZF168B |
| ZK + height + letter | K-series body | ZK170F |
Heads have their own codes: ZXE, GE, ZFE and KE. GE45, for example, is an Inspiration head, and the head numbers guide lists the rest.
Height with the head vs body height
The number in the code includes the head. Zelex’s body charts also give a body height without it, and the gap is consistently 18–20 cm. ZX164G has a body height of 146 cm; ZX170A, the new SLE 3.0 body, measures 152 cm without its head; ZX163E is charted at 145 cm body height and 163 cm doll height.
Use body height when you buy clothes or plan a stand, and doll height when you measure storage or picture the doll next to your furniture.
Popular Zelex sizes: 164G, 160J, 171C and more
Zelex publishes a chart for each SLE body in versions 2.0 and 3.0, so you can compare them side by side. Weights are the listed “Doll Net Weight”, and Zelex does not say whether that includes the head.
| Code | Height with head | Body height | Listed weight | Foot length |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ZX153B | 153 cm | Not charted | SLE 2.0 only, not charted | Not charted |
| ZX160J | 160 cm | 142 cm | 37.2 kg (3.0) | 21 cm |
| ZX163E | 163 cm | 145 cm | 36 kg (2.0 only) | 20.5 cm |
| ZX164G | 164 cm | 146 cm | 33.8 kg (3.0) | 21 cm |
| ZX165D | 165 cm | 145 cm | 33.3 kg (3.0) | 20.5 cm |
| ZX166K | 166 cm | 148 cm | 33.8 kg (3.0) | 21 cm |
| ZX170A | 170 cm | 152 cm | 36.0 kg (3.0) | 22 cm |
| ZX171C | 171 cm | 152 cm | 35.6 kg (3.0) | 21 cm |
| ZX172E | 172 cm | 153 cm | 35.7 kg (3.0) | 21 cm |
ZX160J is the body behind searches for a Zelex J cup, and its J also marks the torsos ZX84J and ZX108J cut from it. ZX153B, the shortest SLE at 153 cm, came in a white skin tone in SLE 2.0 and stayed in that version. Inspiration bodies follow the same pattern: ZG162D, ZGX165F, ZG170C, ZG170D and ZG175E, from 162 to 175 cm. The SLE series guide compares the 2.0 and 3.0 weights.
Zelex 170cm: four bodies, one height
A Zelex 170cm doll can be any of four bodies across three lines: ZX170A in SLE, ZG170C and ZG170D in Inspiration, and ZK170F in the K-series. Fusion’s tallest body, ZF169C, stands 169 cm.
| Body | Line | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| ZX170A | SLE 3.0 | New in SLE 3.0; 152 cm body height, 36.0 kg listed, 22 cm feet |
| ZG170C | Inspiration 1.0 and 2.0 | 41.1 kg on an older product page; often paired with the GE45 head in dealer listings |
| ZG170D | Inspiration 2.0 only | Newer body that carried a surcharge in the maker’s configurator |
| ZK170F | K-series | Tallest K-series body; most K-series listings fall at 36–40 kg |
A dealer listing titled “Zelex 170cm GE45” is usually the Inspiration ZG170C body with the GE45 head. The prefix tells you the line, and with it the material and the price level, so compare ZX listings with ZX and ZG with ZG. The comparison of Zelex lines sets the lines side by side.
How to choose a size for your space, clothes and lifting
- 01
Measure your storage
A full-size doll lying flat needs roughly its full height in length. The shipping box is shorter because the head travels separately inside it: Zelex gives 159 × 47.5 × 32.5 cm for ZX172E, and a seller quotes 139 × 38 × 34 cm for ZX153B. For a smaller space, Zelex torsos run 84–117 cm.
- 02
Decide how much weight you can handle
Full-size Zelex bodies list about 33–45 kg (73–99 lb). The lightest SLE 3.0 bodies, ZX165D, ZX164G and ZX166K, list 33.3–33.8 kg; the guide to lighter Zelex options explains where the savings come from.
- 03
Shop clothes by measurements
Compare the circumference figures on the body chart with the garment’s size chart, and use body height for lengths.
- 04
Shop shoes by foot length
Charted foot lengths are 20.5–22 cm, and one SLE 3.0 owner puts the size at around a US women’s 4.5. Match shoes to the foot length on the chart, or leave the doll barefoot.
Zelex sizes and body codes: FAQ
What does 164G mean in a Zelex code?
In ZX164G, ZX marks an SLE body, 164 is the height with the head in centimeters and G is the chest size on Zelex’s own chart. The body without the head measures 146 cm. In SLE 3.0 Zelex lists this body at 33.8 kg, down from 37.45 kg in SLE 2.0, and charts its foot length at 21 cm.
Is the height in a Zelex code with or without the head?
With the head. The number in a code such as ZX170A is the full doll height. Zelex’s charts also give a body height without the head, which runs 18–20 cm shorter: ZX170A is 152 cm without its head and ZX164G is 146 cm. Use body height for clothes and stands, and doll height for storage.
Which Zelex dolls are 170 cm?
Four bodies share the 170 cm height: ZX170A in SLE 3.0, ZG170C and ZG170D in the Inspiration line, and ZK170F in the K-series. They differ in material, weight and price, so check the prefix before you compare listings. A listing for a Zelex 170cm doll with GE45 is usually ZG170C with the GE45 Inspiration head.
Does the letter in a Zelex code match a clothing size?
No. The letter is a marking on Zelex’s own chart, based on the body’s chest measurements. For clothes, the circumference figures on the body chart give the better match. In searches, “J cup” usually means the SLE ZX160J body, whose letter also appears on two torsos cut from it.
What is the shortest Zelex body?
The shortest SLE body is ZX153B at 153 cm, an SLE 2.0 body that did not carry over to 3.0. In SLE 3.0 the shortest is ZX160J at 160 cm, the K-series starts at 159 cm and Fusion at 161 cm. Every full-size Zelex body stands 153 cm or taller.
